Hey guys, welcome to the Unengaged Podcast. Kay and... Cody... We're back in the studio this morning. Lovely little Monday here. We're finally recouped from our event that we did on Saturday over at the Overflow Taproom in Gilroy. Yes. It was a blast. Such a success. So much fun. Just the energy in the room was completely infectious. Honestly, I haven't had that good of a time with such a cool group of people in a really, really long time. Same. You felt the same? we've had really good vibes and good times lately, like with our close friends. I think we've had some great, beautiful experiences, but yeah, I don't think I've ever had that good of a time with that big of a group of people or women that I don't even know half of them. Strangers. Yeah. Yeah. Especially in that kind of setting too. Like I feel, you know, if you walk into a room typically with, you know, 20 powerful women you're like beautiful also yeah you're you know a lot of times there's a lot of like intimidation that goes into that or like a lot of like people sizing each other up things like that but it was completely different vibe at this event everybody was coming from such a like inviting and like friendly place and just truly it was probably one of the best networking events i've ever attended let alone like hosting yeah because me and you kind of we hosted this and thank you to chris for letting us do this yeah he um him and his team did an amazing job yes and he worked really hard on setting up the event too but yeah I agree I think you know he's created an energy and vibe there and then along with us being a part of the event where people could these women can walk in and just let their walls down a little bit

SPEAKER_02:

there didn't need to be any like what you said like that cattiness competitiveness or intimidation like we're all here for a common purpose which is to inspire and empower each other and and just support each other because only we all know how hard it is to start a business, to be an entrepreneur, even to be friends with one. Not everybody there had a business. just how difficult it could be even just being a woman in general sometimes yeah no for sure and honestly I feel like I walked away from this event and I like made friends like I probably made like five new friends that day definitely more girl yeah like you know what I mean but like even outside of the ones that I like kind of already knew or like had been acquaintances with I'm like okay like I can hang out with you every Saturday yeah like hold on that's don't that's my spot okay you're not taking my spot I'm just kidding Saturdays are actually when I work like that's not you either but um yeah so anyway it was a really really awesome event we were super super excited to be there didn't really know what to expect walking in but i think it exceeded all expectations not just for us but i think for the women that attended too and yeah yeah so it was our first one we hope to do more chris absolutely said that we are more than welcome to do even like during the summer months i don't know if i mentioned to you but he said we could do them every month if we want we could do it like let's say every last saturday of the month or every last, you know, whatever, whatever we want to do, we can, we can do it. Well, I think that it definitely needs to happen because even networking aside, we just had a really, really good time. Yeah. And if you guys missed it and want more information on when we might do our next one, DM us or just follow us. We'll, we'll be posting as we go, but engaged podcast on Insta. Yeah. So to us there, follow us and we'll be posting when the next one is. Yeah, absolutely. So another cool thing that we did at this event Guys, I know we've been kind of teasing a lot of different interviews that were going to be coming up or one-on-one episodes, but we actually just combined a little bit of everything and did some live interviews with a couple of the girls that stood out at the event and were willing to come and talk to us. So that's what this episode is going to be about. We're kind of going to take you back into the event with us. If you weren't in attendance, it's going to feel like you are because that's kind of the rest of the episodes So I hope that you guys enjoy these ladies and gentlemen. We had Chris in there, but I hope that you guys enjoy their energy and what they had to say as much as we did. Yeah, absolutely. This episode is obviously going to be different than any other episode we've done. We've combined clips from our little mini interviews that we did with some amazing women. And then also Chris, the owner of the top house that we did the women's networking event at. So hope you guys enjoy this and we'll talk to you next week. All right. Awesome. And one more thing, if you listen to any of these gals that we have and want to know more about where you can find them, we'll be tagging them in the description, having all their handles in there so that you guys know where to find them as well. Yep. All right. Enjoy. What's up, guys? Kaylee here from the Unengaged Podcast. We're here at a women's networking event. We have Amanda here. Hey, guys. And Amanda, what do you do? Yes. What is your business called? So my business is House of Beauty. We are located in San Jose, and I specialize in brow lamination, brow waxing, and brow tinting. Okay. Okay. Love it. Love it. What do you love most about what you do? Honestly, I just like being able to help my clients and help them achieve their goal of having the perfect brows. Well, you have the perfect brows, so you guys definitely got to hit her up if you want your brows done. And you're located in San Jose, right? San Jose, yes. I have a shop in San Jose, and I have a small location in Hollister. Okay, okay. And you're also your mom, right? You have kids. I have three kids. Okay. So what do you feel like... do you feel like it's hard to balance like the work life and having kids? Like, is that something that's kind of difficult? It's definitely hard, but eventually you get used to it and you just kind of work out a schedule and a plan that really just worked for us. Yes. Yes. I find the same. I have kids too. And I feel like, you know, you're always kind of, giving one area more energy than the other. And you're, it's just, it's a balancing act constantly as being a mom and a business owner. Yeah. And I've kind of learned to just, you know, obviously my business is important, but family is always going to come first, business is second. So that's just kind of, you know, how we found balance. Yes, absolutely. I definitely have gone through points in my life where I prioritize business and like, especially in those building stages in the beginning. And then the family side kind of falls off and you miss out on a lot. Exactly. And then especially if you have more than one child, it's like the next one comes and then you realize what's truly important. You're like, I don't want to miss out on this. Oh yeah, you're like, whoa, time just went by so quickly. Yes, yes. Okay, and what's your relationship status? Are you single? I am married. Oh, you're married. And she's a wife. She's a wife too. What's your biggest dating red flag? Obviously you're married, so it's probably been a while since you've dated, but even, you know, you dated at some point. I would say just sliding in my DMs. Like if you're a fighting in my dms you're fighting in everybody else's dms so that to me is a red flag i will not talk to you if you fight in my dms so go the extra mile yeah give these men some advice in person you have to do it in person you can't be shy you gotta be confident and that's kind of that's how me and my husband met so yeah i mean honestly we've been together 18 years and i met him in shoe palace he came up to me and was like oh my god you're so beautiful what's your name you know and that right there was like oh okay yes definitely chivalry is not dead and i i love that too i don't like the new age way of dating, you know, especially for us single girlies is like, you know, sliding into the DM, doing the dating apps. And I feel like, I mean, the best way to meet someone is just organically meeting them in person. And there's something to say about a man with enough confidence to come up with a, come up to a beautiful woman like you too. So yeah, I love that. All right guys. Well, we have, that's it for today with Amanda and we'll see who we're going to interview next. Thank you. All right. Hey guys, this is Cody with the unengaged podcast. I'm here with our friend, Carla. What's up? Do you want to tell them a little bit about yourself? Yeah, absolutely. So I'm actually the owner of Bay Area Permanent Makeup in Morgan Hill, California. So I think right now you said you were training for a bodybuilding competition, right? I am. How many weeks out? So I'm four weeks out. Yeah. So I'm actually going to be entering into a new division called Fit Model. That's awesome. And what Fit Model is, is the newest, what they like to call the old bikini girls, right? So people who have lower muscles. muscle tone than like your average bodybuilding chick. So I'm going to be entering into that one. It's a little bit, I would say easier for me to do, more sustainable. So I'm really excited for that. This is going to be my second show. And I used to do bikini shows. So that was about three years ago. Okay. What made you want to get into that, like into like bodybuilding, like in general? Growing up, I was not athletic, like at all, to be honest with you. So I was not athletic. And when I found bodybuilding, it was after a pretty bad breakup. It's probably when I was 25, 26 years old. Yeah, about 25, 26. So you were going after the revenge body and made it a sport. Yeah, I was going. I was like, you know what? I'm just going to get ripped, and it's going to be awesome, and that's pretty much it. That is awesome. Now I just fell in love with the sport. That's fantastic. Yeah. So our podcast, we know you're going to be on at some point for a full episode, but I just wanted to ask you, what does the word unengaged mean to you? So I recently found out that you guys obviously have been engaged and then broke it off and I guess that's the that's what I gather from you know what so basically you get the same meaning out of it as we do yeah yeah absolutely that's awesome that's kind of like what I welcome to the club thank you it's it's pretty nice we're getting jackets pretty soon so we'll have to get you fitted for the episode we're getting jackets like what me girl yeah yeah exactly on Wednesdays we wear pink okay all right well is there anything else you want to throw out there to the unengaged crew I'm really excited to be on your show and I can't wait. Yeah. We don't want to spoil too much as of right now. Yeah, we won't talk about it. All right. Stay tuned. Thanks, guys. Hey guys, it's Cody with the Unengaged Podcast. I'm here with my friend Raquel. Want to introduce yourself? Yes. Hi, thank you, Cody. I'm Raquel with Blush Studio in Hollister, California. Foudoir is my niche as far as photography goes, but I do do lifestyle, business branding, and all of that. Awesome. Okay. I have to say I've been following your work for a really long time and it's amazing. Thank you. Amazing. What made you want to do that? What was your inspo? My sister is actually my inspiration for it. She up and started her own business, literally out of nothing which i think is what most of us do right a really good idea and maybe some money to throw at it and we just start and she had a studio space that she wasn't using so i i just jumped into that so she is definitely my inspiration for that that's awesome shout out to the sisters out there man um what would you say if you weren't doing this what would you be doing today Oh gosh, my nine to five numbers tax prep bookkeeping is what I also do professionally. So that's probably what I'd be doing Monday through Friday and I would not be here, quite honestly. So this is fun. Yeah, this is a good time. I'm glad that you're here today. Kind of leaning towards our unengaged podcast, our style. I wanted to ask you a couple of questions. What would you say is your biggest dating red flag? biggest dating red flag per my clients because I'm married. I don't know the last time I actually went on a new date. Red flags. Girl, if he's sliding into your DMs, he's sliding into everyone's DMs. Oh my God, that's two for two. As long as you're very aware, I guess it's okay. It depends on what you're looking for, but if some guy's sliding into your DMs, And you've, especially if you've seen him in person and he can't come say hi to you, he or she, it doesn't matter. That's kind of a big red flag, I think, I would think. What would you say your biggest green flag is? Green flag, a man that can come up and talk to you in person. Here, Cody, you know what I mean? I'm literally dying right now because this is the exact same thing. Learn something, learn something. That's two for two, ladies and gentlemen. Go up, say what's up. Just be about it. You have nothing to lose and everything to gain by going up to a female and just saying anything remotely intelligent. Confidence is sexy. All right. Is there anything that you want to tell the unengaged mafia out there? Well, since we're here and it's about networking, small business, if you have ever really wanted to do something, just do it. The worst thing you could do is close your doors in two years and say you did it. And that was fun. So just, just do it and know that there's, literally a community here for you so that's that's awesome okay one more question what does the word unengaged mean to you oh my god unengaged to me when you guys started this podcast and i was so excited when i saw it um it to me quite honestly and i think it's different for everybody i like my social media is so not your cookie cutter put together um beige, beautiful Instagram page. And when I heard unengaged, I was like, that's me. So I think the word can mean whatever it means to anybody. But I think we're all just hot messes and we put out the best, but we have, and that's what it meant to me. It was just like, it just meant me. I don't even know how to explain it other than hot mess express most of the time and accepted for it. Love that. Yes. Oh my gosh. You're going to make Kaylee cry back there. But that's literally what, when I got, I saw you guys start this because we're all friends just so everyone knows. But when you guys started, I was like unengaged. I fucking love that. Like that's me. Totally unengaged, unplugged, understated. Most of like just everything that who I am as a person and entrepreneur, that's what it meant for me. So that's awesome. Well, thank you for being here today. We're so happy that you're going to be on the pod. And I love this. Cheers. Cheers. All right. I'm here with Christina and she's actually my personal injector. Christina. What do you do? Tell the people. What's the name of your business? All Things Aesthetics. And what do you specialize in? So I do injectables, wellness. So a little bit of everything, honestly. Not just like the aesthetic portion of it, but wellness as well. Okay. What do you feel like sets you apart from other injectors? I think, well, I'm just saying for myself. I know. So for me, I will personally say that I have the confidence to say no. And I think it's really important to educate and say no when it needs to not be done. And I feel like a lot of people don't do that. I'm not here for the money. I'm here for you're my canvas. This is my business. I want you to look good. And I don't want to take your money. I want to be real with you. Okay, we love that. Because a lot of injectors, it's not like that. She's literally told me no, and I'm so glad she did. I would totally agree. I could say that firsthand, that you really are that way. And that is something that's different than other injectors, for sure. Okay, so what made you want to start your business? Honestly, I never thought I would be doing aesthetics. It just grew on me. I was like, you know what, let me just try out let's see let's see where it goes yeah and like we always say i just bet on myself that's it like you have to bet on yourself and give it your all and i feel like when you give it your all like no one can hold you back and you're gonna be your worst critic or you're gonna be your your best You know, like... Hype woman. Yeah, hype woman. Yeah. So, like, you're either going to make... You're going to make it or break yourself because you are the one that's going to dictate, like, what it looks like, you know? Absolutely. Trust me, girl. Like... it's hard like it's a really hard thing to do but once you see it and you're like oh like you're like i did that i know i did that it's hard to believe sometimes but i think it's it's just such a fulfilling thing yeah so what would be the advice that you'd give to someone that's thinking about starting a business or you know yeah kind of going off on their own breaking out side of the societal norms of like a nine-to-five and like starting their own business would be the advice I would say honestly if you want it you're gonna get it that's it like when you want something you're gonna get it you're gonna work hard at it and you're gonna give it your all and when you do that it shows you know and um just the liberty you get with like making your own schedule just like girl you know COVID was rough girl and I love being a nurse I love being a bedtime nurse but the thing is like That's a lot too. And I was kind of done with being a zombie, you know? And I wanted to have my liberty. I wanted to do my own thing, make my own schedule and most importantly, be there for my daughter. And honestly, when I look at it, I'm just like, Dream life right now. Dream life. Oh, that's it. Dream life. I love this for her. Honestly, I completely relate. I feel the same way about my life and what I'm doing. So yeah, I completely relate to that. You got to like take that risk, you know, you got to just do it because I feel like the doubt could creep in and it's like all about what thoughts you choose for sure so yeah yes um what would you say is like what's the hardest thing about running a business being a mom i know you're also engaged you're a homeowner um all of these things and you're not even how old are you 31 oh you're so young too yeah so much fun for you um but like what would you say is kind of like the hardest part about wearing all those hats The hardest part is knowing when to stop and shut it off. I can't shut off, girl. It's a constant, like, go, go, go. What's next? What else am I going to do? What else can I do? Like, how else can I grow? Like, you're just constantly, your mind is going. And I think that's like the hardest thing is shutting off and knowing like, okay, this is my time apart to do this. And this is my time for the business. Knowing your balance, you know, your balance, finding the balance is a hard thing. But like anything you do, have to go with it and see where it goes and you're you're in the way you know that's it like fully fully agree and relate to that yeah i know so many people listening to this especially if they own a business or are juggling it can be very tough but the pressure is on but it's a good pressure at the end of the day i say it booked and blessed and that's all I want and it's given me the liberty to do what I want and that's all I can ask for honestly I love that and I'm happy for you and I'm very proud of you also last question so our podcast is called Unengaged Podcast and I just wanted to ask what does the word unengaged mean to you? unengaged for me when I hear unengaged it's like disengaging from things that don't serve you anymore and learning how to move forward with that, you know? So I love that. I love that. Thank you so much. You guys are going to have her on the podcast. We're going to be doing a full episode, but I think that's it for now. We got it. We got to leave some juicy stuff for later, but she's still inspiring. So. Hey guys, Cody with the Unengaged Podcast. I'm here with my friend Delilah. We're out at Overflow Taproom today for our Women in Business event. And we just want to talk a little bit about your business. What do you do? So I am a professional bodybuilder and I opened up a women's gym here in Gilroy called Love Her Gym. We focus on nutrition and training as a form of transformation. But I do more of the inner work with the girls as we have a lot of food issues, sugars being a problem around the time of the month. We all have a very similar background. So when we go in there, we talk about holistic wellness, be able just to live a more peaceful life. Yeah, for sure. I think that's a really big piece of it. I mean, I work out myself, obviously not as much as I should, but you know but like you said when you talk about you know how different it is for women specifically based on like the cycles that you went through and all that it's a little bit different you know we face a lot more challenges and a lot more uphill battles than maybe some men might you know as far as consistency goes but I think another piece of that too and we've talked about it is mindset you know it's all of that so we want to touch on that a little bit and how important that is to you know physical wellness as well yeah so physical wellness is a part of it definitely but also emotional wellness and my financial wellness. It all comes inclusive. I tell the girls the right mindset is to understand that everything is energy. Once you start to realize that food is energy, money is energy, and your emotions are energy emotion, I'm able to teach the girls how to become more self-aware, how to build better habits around energy, about healing their heart and traumas and knowing behavior patterns that came from them, about really building the right habits throughout financial literacy. Everything of that is like life coach with training. So it's definitely just not just physical. It's so much more than that. It's like life transformation. So they're just truly getting the full package with you. Yeah, that's what I think. And then again, it's unfortunate that a lot of women have very many limitations around money. So their willingness to invest in themselves is a must if they truly want to grow. It could take 10 years. It could take one year, depending on the people that you surround yourself with. So creating a safe space where women can come together and do that work just elevates everybody else. Absolutely. Energy is currency right right you know that is it is you're only as good as your mindset and only as good as you want to put yourself out there to be when you walk out the door every morning right

SPEAKER_00:

right

SPEAKER_02:

so that's awesome um so our podcast we do talk a lot about like you know dating and things like that so i love your energy i love your personality and just kind of how you carry yourself as far as just you know being very very self-aware um what would you say is your biggest red flag uh around dating whether it be with you or your clients what would you say the biggest red flag you're seeing lately? Honestly, it's your mind. It's your mind not being afraid or going into fear because of all the past experience that you went through. So for you to actually find somebody that meets you where you need to be met, you know, you have people that show half-assed effort. Not those people. It's the people that really show up just the way that you do and just trust that, you know, everything happens for a reason. You don't know tomorrow. So as long as you be present with that person and enjoy the time that you do have together, that's all that you have. But when the mind gets in the way. It just messes up everything on both ends. That's awesome. So another one that I want to ask you. So we're unengaged, right? That's the name of our podcast. And unengaged means a lot of different things to us. We try to be about unengaging from past habits, unengaging from people that don't fit our new mindsets, all that kind of stuff. What does unengaged mean to you? It's easy. It's the let go. And that's in spirituality. You have to learn to let go, like you said, habits, people, environments, but you don't have to do anything. Only if choose if you want to rise, then you have to let go of the past to be willing to ascend. That's amazing. That's awesome. One more question for you. So our audience is about 40%. Biggest pocket that we have is between like 28 and 34 years old. What would you say to any girl in that pocket that is listening to this right now? What kind of advice would you give? Okay, this is science. So hear me out. When you turn 35, it's so much harder to change. I started with 28 at 33. I had She did the work. Do the work now if you're not a mom because you don't want to pass on that generational shit. Do the work if you truly want to attract a better person. Do the work if you want to attract better money and business ethics and everything that comes along with it. So the game of the game is authenticity. If you do the work, you become more authentic to who you are and stay true to yourself. You just live a happier life. You heard it here first, guys. This is Delilah. She's amazing. Come see her at her gym. Can we talk about that, where they can find you? Yeah, Love Her Gym is on 7425 Eagleberry Street in downtown Gilroy. But you can find me online at lovehergym or at lovehergym, sorry, at

SPEAKER_00:

loveher underscore coach.

SPEAKER_02:

Awesome. All right, you guys need to hit her up. She's a wealth of knowledge and it was just such a pleasure to meet you today and get to hear from you. So thank you for doing this for us.

SPEAKER_00:

No, thank you.

SPEAKER_02:

Hey guys, Kay from the Unengaged Podcast here with Millie. Hi everyone. Millie, tell us about your business. You have a business. So I do quite a few little things. I do have a caregiving agency that I just started last year in October. It's going really well. It's kind of like on the hush, you know, I'm still growing it.

SPEAKER_00:

It's

SPEAKER_02:

going really well. And then I also have a salon in Canyon Row where I do lash classes, do extensions, lip blushing, makeup. updues, every little girly thing you can think of. And I just started permanent jewelry. A lot of things. I love that. Once you're in the service and you know beauty, there's so much money to be made in every little thing. And don't you feel like once you started a business and you kind of dip your toe in the water of like the entrepreneurship that you like you find other areas yes and that's where you can start other businesses I feel like most people that start businesses don't start just one right so that's the thing so a lot of people that are entrepreneurs tend to have so many things going on their heads yeah and we have so many ideas that we just want to and it's not everybody it's like like two percent of people that have that two percent like two or three I didn't even know that yeah that I have that type of mindset we're like okay we have to I have this idea I have this idea but how do to make it happen. A lot of people don't ever do it. And there's other people, for example, like us who just attack. If we fuck it up, we'll move on to the next, you know, and then come back to it. I think that's how entrepreneurs look for me. I love that. I love the statistics. She came with that. What inspired you to keep going? I think my kids and my family. Definitely my boys. Just wanting to give them the best and knowing that I have to work hard to have the best. I like a luxury lifestyle and my boys do too. It comes from my mom. It's my grandma's fault and my mother's fault. I was spoiled then. And I just wanted that for my kids. Yeah. Just a nice life. Yeah. And do you feel like, is it kind of difficult balancing? Definitely. There is no rest. Yeah. We know. Being a mom, there's no rest. Juggling businesses, juggling life, trying to get dressed and look pretty. Even that, this is not every day. Yeah. It takes work. It takes work. It takes hours out of your morning.

SPEAKER_00:

How long did it take you to get ready today? About two

SPEAKER_02:

and a half hours, girl. And I showered and blow-dried my hair.

SPEAKER_00:

Oh. That's extra. It's a wash day. Yeah.

SPEAKER_02:

Same. Channed last night, everything. Same goals. Because this is the part, the beautiful part about being an entrepreneur and meeting other entrepreneurs is when you get together, everyone knows what it takes to get here. It takes a lot. There's a like-mindedness. Everybody looks beautiful. I know. I love that. Thank you. You always look hot, though. Okay, let's kind of switch gears. I have a dating question. What do you think is the biggest dating red flag? The biggest dating red flag is the communication. If you're texting someone and you guys are talking, I personally like to check in 24 hours. That's just me. I like that. I have petitions. So I've been like, where are you at? Call me, text me. You know, I think that's... So when they don't communicate. When they don't communicate. I may be surprised. For some people, it's not healthy, but I like it. I know there's some men that like it. So it's just, you gotta find the person. But I think communicating and just talking throughout the day is important. I agree. If you're dating someone or talking to someone and they don't check in with you at all, it just shows lack of effort. Do they really like me? Effort. Dating, red flag, minimum effort. Men, if you're listening, step it up. It's not cute. Put the effort in. Okay, green flag. What's a dating green flag or green flag? When they're close to their mom. You think that's a green flag? Not like... my mom like i love my you don't have to wait a minute that's not like that but he has a close relationship with his mom a healthy healthy relationship i think that's important because it just shows how he treats women yeah okay healthy relationship with the women is like i like that i did i did date someone that was it was a little like i was like i'm not gonna compete with you okay yeah yeah not that not that there is that but there's also like when they have a good relationship it's healthy you know yeah and it's fun okay it could be fun so got

SPEAKER_00:

you okay

SPEAKER_02:

All right, you guys. Well, that's it. We have Millie here. Go see her at Diamond Beauty Lounge. Diamond Beauty Lounge. Come see me. You guys, her energy is amazing. Go see her. Hey, guys. This is Kay from the Unengaged Podcast here with Chris. We are at his place of business, having a women's networking event. Tell the people what your business is called and what you do and a little bit about you.

SPEAKER_01:

Yeah. My name is Chris Sid. I'm the owner of Old Floor Tapouts. We're a bar and grill here in downtown Gilroy, California. We've been open for about a year. We have pretty cool venues. We do a lot of fights here. We do a lot of sports action. We have live country, like concerts, reggae, hip hop out here in our beautiful patio. As today, you can see we're having a beautiful women's mixer, women empowerment mixer that Kaylee, myself, and a couple other girls here helped out put together.

SPEAKER_02:

Yeah. And so what do you love? I have to ask this question specifically for Cody because I know this is part of Cody's dream. What do you love most about owning a bar?

SPEAKER_01:

Love most about owning my bar? I think it's creating something. And then watching people enjoy it. And basically like your wildest ideas, these events that we're throwing, these mixtures, these ragers, whatever, like creating a drink, creating a cocktail and just to see people like having a blast and enjoying it. It's like, I feel like going to my house, like going to my garage, like this is like an affiliate you're going to have. So honestly, just seeing people happy, giving them something new to be happy about, giving them something to look forward to. That's my favorite part. I mean, we're a place to go when you're happy or sad or all together. I mean, this is a place to come and just smile and have a good time. So just see people smiling that's amazing

SPEAKER_02:

yeah I would agree that you've definitely created that environment here I'm super proud of you by the way we've known each other for a couple years and I know all of us I could speak for all the women here we all were looking forward to this event and I feel like we need more things like this so thank you for doing this

SPEAKER_00:

yeah

SPEAKER_02:

absolutely um but yeah so on we're gonna kind of change gears a little bit okay so what would you say since you're he's the first and only man that we're gonna be interviewing today so I want to know is from a Dan's point of view, what is your biggest dating red flag when it comes to women?

SPEAKER_01:

Dating red flag? Yeah. I think I'm 35 now. So I think something with me is particularly somebody who still doesn't have an idea what they want in life because I'm already at that level where I know what I want and where I want to go. Someone that's unsure of what they want. Like, I'm not here. I'm here for a long time now. Not a good time like I used to be.

SPEAKER_00:

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01:

So stability is to me is everything. And then someone to the emergency table has healed from their wounds like I have. That's a big deal to me right now. Honestly, it's healing.

SPEAKER_02:

Wow. So it kind of sounds like the same thing for us women. It's the same exact thing. I would totally agree. A lack of direction is not attractive, you know, when you're dating the opposite sex.

SPEAKER_01:

Especially someone who's building and working on themselves. And if you're also doing the same thing, it just, it helps the process go a lot faster. You don't want to be with someone that's narcissistic or not happy with their life because it honestly sucks your energy. And I'm super big on energy now. And if I don't, if I don't feel a connection and I feel like they're miserable or they just don't simply don't want to do nothing about it. I don't want to be with them. Like

SPEAKER_02:

stuck in their comfort zone, kind of. People that are stuck in their comfort

SPEAKER_01:

zone. This is obviously outside my comfort zone, this whole event today.

SPEAKER_02:

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01:

It made it happen, but I like challenges.

SPEAKER_02:

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01:

So.

SPEAKER_02:

Okay. Who has been your biggest inspiration in life in general? My mom. Who would you say?

SPEAKER_01:

My mother.

SPEAKER_02:

Yeah? Why is that?

SPEAKER_01:

I mean, she raised me. She's been my mother and my father throughout the whole process of my life. She's made me who I am today. She's the reason I pushed myself to the limits to owning something like this. She's a very big influence in the community herself. She's a powerful, amazing woman who does a lot for charity, does a lot for the community, and I feel like I try to piggy back off of that not piggyback off of what she does but simply try to follow in her footsteps and try to be there's a saying like they always say like i wish i could be half the man my dad is i wish i could be half the wolf like man my mom is facing me so okay

SPEAKER_02:

i definitely struck a chord with me i'm also a single mom and Honestly, when you were saying that, I was just thinking like, I hope that my son says that someday. So that's amazing. Shout out to the single moms out there. Yes,

SPEAKER_00:

sir.

SPEAKER_02:

All the hard work you're doing now will pay later. I mean, you're very, you're successful. You're doing it. So I'm sure your mom's proud. What's your mom's name?

SPEAKER_01:

Maria.

SPEAKER_02:

Maria. All right. Shout out to Maria.

SPEAKER_01:

Well, no, this, this event's dope. I know how hard it is right now with the economy and trying to get business, um, try to network with other women or just like how us guys try to network. There's a lot of haters out there. So if I feel like we can create something like this where people can interact and share their businesses with other women. Maybe you can somehow create like opportunity like hey i know someone that needs this service oh cool i know someone that needs this service and that's why we created this event so people can cross pollinate each other and help each other out and it's so fun everyone seems to be sitting at different tables and joining each other it's working out great

SPEAKER_02:

it's i absolutely agree energy is infectious and it transfers from one person to the next and so when you do things like this there's definitely a positive ripple effect

SPEAKER_01:

so

SPEAKER_02:

you yeah thank you yeah of course

SPEAKER_01:

i got you so much

SPEAKER_02:

okay One last question. Um, so our podcast is called the unengaged podcast. So I just want to know what does the word unengaged mean to you?

SPEAKER_01:

Unengaged? I don't know. Like in your situation, because the other very, no, to

SPEAKER_02:

you, not to us, to you. Like, like when you hear the word unengaged, What comes to mind, I guess?

SPEAKER_01:

No strings attached. You're basically just out there saying, fuck it. I'm going to try it. I'm not afraid to do it. I'm not engaged. I'm just loose. I'm just ready for anything. Okay.

SPEAKER_02:

I'd say that's definitely part

SPEAKER_01:

of it.

SPEAKER_02:

All right. Well, that's all we have for you today, you guys. Thank you so much, Chris. Overflow Tap House, Gilroy, California. You guys just created a beautiful energy and environment and vibe here. You guys got to come check it out. We'll see you next time. Peace.
